Dolores Marie Dunn

Memorial service for Dolores Marie Dunn will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 16, 2018 at the Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Ted Edwards officiating.
Dolores passed away at home on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 with her family by her side.
Dolores was born on December 23, 1958 in Long Beach, CA to Chester and Frances Dunn.  Dolores belonged to a military family that traveled a lot due to her stepfather’s military service.  The family eventually settled in Lawton, OK in 1975.
Dolores was a very special daughter.  She was loving and loved.  She was never able to speak more than three or four words.  Her ability to walk was good when she was young, but began to diminish, as she got older.  She was the eldest sister, but it was her younger sisters who were her protectors and defenders.  The bond of the girls remained strong no matter how old they got.
Dolores attended Colonel Greiner’s School for the Handicapped for many years.  Then she went to Wintergreen Adult Day Care; which is now the Goodwill Adult Day Care.  She went there each day until she was too ill to go there anymore.  She enjoyed her time there very much.
She is survived by her mother Frances Mitchell of the home; her sisters: Connie Mitchell, Mary Herrera, Becky Gonzales and her fiancée John Destafano; her nieces: Shellbie Morales and Sophia Tillman; her nephew: Julian Gonzales.
Her father Chester Dunn precedes her in death; her stepfather Neil Roeder; and her Grandmother Mary Bryant.
