Word has been received of the death of Donald Fred Wilks, 65, of Lawton.
Mr. Wilks passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 in Lawton.
A special visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 6, 2019 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.
Donald Fred was born on July 22, 1954 in Lamb, Texas to Billy Ray and Roberta June (Hanes) Wilks. The family moved to Lawton in 1956 where Donald Fred grew up and attended school. He worked in the carpentry business, with a specialty in overhead garage doors in Lawton, Oklahoma City, Tinker Air Force Base, and Houston. He also was a mechanic in the transmission business. Donald Fred was a excellent pool player and won many tournaments and also competed at National Pool Tournaments in Las Vegas. He enjoyed restoring Race Cars, El Caminos, and any other classics.
He is survived by his daughters and son in law, Tina Jo Ballard and James Dorrell, of Cache, OK and Dacia and Alex Jimenez, of Houston, TX; two brothers and a sister in law, Gary Dale Wilks, of Lawton, OK and Danny Glen and Angela Wilks, of Paris, AR; his sister and brother in law, Teresa and Virgil Robinson, of Cache, OK; his grandchildren, Samantha Redelk, Morgan Ballard, Darrin Jimenez, and Dominic Jimenez; two great granddaughters, Dixie Redelk and Tommi Redelk; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents; and his sister, Tina Gail Wilks.
