Graveside service for Donald "Ducker" Wayne Avant, 80, of Loveland, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Grandfield Memorial Cemetery with K.B. Hennessee officiating.

Mr. Avant passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 in Lawton.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gray Funeral Home.

Viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2019 at the funeral home. 

Donald was born on December 5, 1938 in Frederick, Oklahoma to Clay Seldon and Faye (Ullam) Avant. He grew up in Loveland, Oklahoma, one of seven in the last graduating class of 1957 from Loveland High School. He married Frances Hernandez in January of 1958 in Loveland where they have made their home for the last 61 years. Ducker farmed with his brothers for many years and worked for Tillman County as an Equipment Operator, retiring after 18 years. He owned raced cars that raced at the Lawton Speedway, and in Wichita Falls, and Oklahoma City. He enjoyed watching his grandsons and great grandsons race and also liked watching his grandchildren in their sports. He enjoyed joking around and playing dominoes and liked going to the casino.

He is survived by his wife, Frances, of the home; four daughters and sons in law, Dona and Buddy Kyle, of Lawton, OK, Yvonne and Marlon Anderson, of Snyder, OK, Yvette and Larry Fletcher, of Cache, OK, and Kimmy and Rock Oliver, of Randlett, OK; his grandchildren, and their spouses, Daniel and Susan Cox, Lindsey and Aaron Chandler, Melissa and Sonny Miller, Shane and Kandice Little, Marley Anderson and Trent Ellis, Drew and Nikki Deboard, Steven Grounds, Brandt and Cierra Hennessee, Kinser Hennessee, Tres Miller, Ashleigh and Antonio Medellin, Morgan Fletcher, Jared Fletcher, and Clint and Christa Rollins; his great grandchildren, Carson and Blakelee Cox, Abigail Chandler, Cooper and Cash Miller, A.J. Little, Lucas Deboard, Conor and Dakota Kloos, Zayden Gipson, Beckam Hennessee, Cutler, Cayson, and Creed Rollins; his sisters in law, Tila Burke and Nena Whittington; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Nancy Ann Avant-Grounds; his brothers; Harold Avant, Jack Avant, Paul Avant, Sr. and Dee Avant;  his great grandson, Christian Deboard; and his nephew, Paul K. Avant, Jr.
