Funeral service for Donnie Harrison, 75 of Lawton will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home with Dr. Robert F. Dowell, pastor of New Life Fellowship Church officiating.
Mr. Harrison passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2019 in Lawton.
Viewing and visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Donnie was born on September 27, 1943 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Ted and Reggie (Moody) Harrison. He grew up in Lawton and graduated from Lawton High School. He moved to California where he worked for awhile and then returned to Lawton where he joined the United States Army and was a Vietnam War Veteran. While serving his county, he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Devices, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Overseas Service Bar, and the SPS Badge. He joined the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Team in 1977 and retired after 25 years of service. Then later worked again as a contractor for Goodyear. He married Heike Kleemann on October 15, 1987 in Las Vegas. Donnie loved spending time with his grandchildren and was an avid golfer and won many titles including the Lawton City Championship several times and in 1971, he won the Firecracker Golf Tournament.
He is survived by his wife, Heike, of the home; his sons and a daughter in law, Brandon Harrison, of Lawton and Stefan and Kelli Breuer, of Maryland; his daughters, Tammy Harrison, and Tanja Louia, both of Lawton; his brother, Teddy Harrison, of Lawton; two sisters and a brother in law, Barbara and Bob Shackleford, of Duncan, and Rita Gwinn; 8 grandchildren, Joshua Collins, Tabitha Harrison, Cody Breuer, Cheyenne Breuer, Jayce Harrison, Brittney Louia, Celina Louia, and Brian Louia; great grandchildren, Gavin, Anthony and Jack; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Don Harrison, Jr; and his brother, Charles Harrison.
