Doyle Wayne Colyer

Doyle Wayne Colyer, 71, of Grandfield, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017, in Oklahoma City, OK.

Funeral Services will be Monday, August 14, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Grandfield, with Rev. Micky Miller, pastor, officiating.

Interment will be in the Grandfield Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gray Funeral Home, Grandfield.

Doyle was born February 1, 1946, in Frederick, OK, to William Ray and Amy Rose (Sutherland) Colyer. He attended Grandfield High School, graduating with the Class of 1965. He joined the United States Army on July 7, 1966, at Frederick, OK, and was an Army Medical Specialist. Doyle received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Marksman Badge (Rifle M-14). He was honorably discharged July 5, 1968, at Fort Sam Houston, TX. At that time he was transferred to the United States Army Reserves. Doyle married Vicky Lynn Chamberlain on May 3, 1979, in Wichita Falls, TX. He loved and adored his grandkids, great grandchildren, and his dogs, Be and Leo. He loved to sit in his chair on the patio and watch the grandchildren play in the sandbox. He was a farmer. Doyle was a member of the First Baptist Church in Grandfield.

He is survived by his wife, Vicky of the home, his mother, Amy Rose Colyer of Grandfield, six daughters, Misty Colyer Dickey and husband, David of Mineral Wells, TX, Telerea Colyer Witt (German) of Lawton, OK, Ora May Colyer Linn and husband Anson of Valley Mills, TX, Amy Colyer of Wichita Falls, Tx, Amber Colyer of Stillwater, OK; Sierra Colyer (Squirt) of Wichita Falls, TX; one brother, Jerry and his wife, LaNell of Grandfield; two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Colyer of Burkburnett, TX; Jo Malvitz of Cabot, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Miles Colyer Linn, Morganne LeAnn Epting and Koby Wayne Dickey; six great grandchildren and numerous loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Ray Colyer; and a brother, Kenneth Ray Colyer.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grandfield First Baptist Church Hospitality Committee, Grandfield Ambulance Fund, Grandfield Memorial Cemetery Fund or Disabled American Veterans.
