Evelyn Janette Justice was called to her heavenly home on June, 7th, 2022.
Janette was born November, 11th, 1948 to Jake and Juanita Giles in Lawton Oklahoma. She attended Howell Elementary School where she was an avid reader and softball player. During her childhood her favorite pastime was going hunting for raccoons with her dad. She graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1967, which was only the second graduating class from the new school.
She married the true love of her life, Marshall Leon Justice, on May 16, 1969. They established their home in Lawton, and after attending Eve’s Beauty College, she opened her own salon. She had a great love for the conversations she had with her clients and continued to work her creative magic until she and Marshall started their family.
Their marriage was blessed with three children: Jeffery, Matthew and Melody. She spent a large part of their childhood cheering them on at baseball, softball and football games. Janette remained a homemaker until she returned to work at the Walmart Customer Service desk where she worked for 16 years before becoming a full-time Nana to her 8 grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters and her fur baby Eddie.
She served as a volunteer for Boy Scouts of America, was a Smile Assistant at Hugh Bish Elementary and the first Goodyear Events Committee.
Janette spent her free time reading and crocheting, a skill she passed to her granddaughters. She was a wonderful cook and loved having the whole family over to eat whenever possible. She was proud of the fact that all of her children’s friends thought that her house was the best place to hang-out. Her home was always full of kids, love and laughter. She also loved making everyone’s favorites for their birthday and we all loved getting it because no one made them with more love than she did. Janette was also a fan of the Oklahoma Sooners and attended as many events as she could, although her favorite beyond a doubt was softball.
Janette is survived by her husband of 53 years, Marshall, of the home. Her fur baby, Eddie. Their son Jeffery and his wife Jennifer, of Lawton. Their son Matthew and his wife Stacy, of Lawton. Their only daughter Melody of Spokane Valley, Washington, and sister Joyce (Daughtery) Denton of Cache.
Janette was Nana to Kristen Smith, Trenton Tucker, Justin Durgin, Brayden Tucker, Kaitlyn Justice, Aubrey Justice, Garrett Justice and Brody Justice. She was Great-Nana to Harper Smith and Aurora South.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Juanita Giles. Also her brother Donnie Giles and two sisters Wilva “Dot” Nichols and Dimple Curtis.
