Memorial service for Frances Bea Gardenhire, 98 of Lawton will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 15, 2019 at Centenary United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Gorrell, Pastor and Rev. Phil Jones retire Pastor officiating.
Mrs. Gardenhire passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2019 in Lawton.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.
Viewing will be held at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, March 14, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Frances was born on February 20, 1921 in Azle, Texas to Ralph and Addie (Culver) Kemp. The family later moved to Springtown, Texas where she graduated from high school. She then attended Draughn's Business College. Frances married Charles "Bud" Gardenhire in Springtown, Texas in 1939. Through Bud's years with Texaco Oil Company, they lived in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico. They had two children, Linda Mager of Lawton who passed away in 2006 and Charlie Gardenhire, of Cobo, Mexico who passed away in 2009. Bud passed away on 2006. Frances had been a volunteer for the Road to Recovery Program of the American Society and Mobile Meals. She was a member of the Quest Club, Chapter 13 of the PEO, and Lawton Book and Play.
She was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church, a member of the United Methodist Woman, The Crusaders, and the Quester's Sunday School Classes. She had also been an active member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and remained a member of the Wednesday Night Bible Study.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two children, and her brother, Ralph Kemp.
She is survived by her grandchildren and spouses, Laurie and Pat Gallagher, of Edmond, OK, Robert Steel, of Austin, TX, Jordan Gardenhire, of Cobo, Mexico, Claire and Paul Selva, of Halifax, Canada; great grandchildren, Ashley Steel, Harrah Gallagher, Hope Gallagher, Denma Selva, and Arthur Selva; great great grandchildren, Charlie Martin and Penelope Martin.
