Frances Erma Teed

Graveside service for Frances Erma Teed, 82 of Hastings, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. Charles McConnell, pastor of Hastings Baptist Church, officiating. 

Mrs. Teed passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2018 in Corum, Oklahoma.

Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.  

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  

Frances was born on June 27, 1936 in Martha Township, Oklahoma to Andrew M. and Opal L. (Preslar) Nease. She moved to the Ardmore area at the age of six months and then to the Ahpeatone community in 1940. She completed 12 years of her education at Ahpeatone High School. After graduation, she attended Cameron A&M College for one year. She then began her career with civil service at Fort Sill in 1955. She worked at various directorates until her retirement from the Field Artillery Board in February, 1993. Frances married Bob G. Blair on June 5, 1959 and to this union two children were born; Lisa and Mark. Mr. Blair died on August 5, 1961. She later married Jim Teed on August 10, 1969, and he adopted her children. After a long illness with Parkinson's disease, Mr. Teed passed away on November 5, 2007. She and her husband spent every Saturday night for 30 years during the racing season, doing what they loved, working the pit gate at the Lawton Speedway, then going into the stands to watch the races. Upon retirement, they traveled to all 50 states, as well as Canada and Australia, leaving them with many wonderful memories. Mrs. Teed also became active in the Retired Senior and Volunteer Program, volunteering with several organizations including Hospice of Lawton, Heartland Share, Oklahoma Blood Institute, and the American Red Cross.  

She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Lisa and Jim Hill, of Comanche, OK; her son and daughter in law, Mark and Stephanie Teed, of The Woodlands, TX; her step son, and daughter in law, Roger and Mary Teed, of Bixby, OK; her sister, Retha Dodson, of Kingsland, TX; five grandchildren; three step grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and five step great grandchildren. 
    
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; brother, Allan Nease; and two sisters, Lavena Crane and Arline Nease.
