Funeral service for Fred A. Adams, 85 of Lawton, OK
will be at 2 P.M. on Friday July 6, 2018 in the Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon David Bunch of Holy Family Catholic Church will officiate the service.
Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Adams passed away on Friday June 29, 2018 in Lawton, OK.
Fred was born on January 13, 1933 in Redfox, KY to Floyd and Dorothy Adams. He attended school in Redfox and in 1950 at the age of Seventeen, he enlisted in the United States Army. Fred served honorably for 21 years, retiring in March of 1972. He was a Vietnam War veteran and belonged to both the V.F.W and American Legion Posts of Lawton. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, and listening to old music as he worked around his home doing remodeling projects.
He is survived by his sons: Duane Adams and his wife Beatrice of Sumter, SC and Fredrick Adams of Lawton, OK. His daughters: Shirley Adams-Wittman of Lawton, OK, Debrah Cheatham and her husband Antonio Marquez of Lawton, OK and Stephanie Adams of Gulfport, MS. His brothers: Floyd Adams and his wife, Bonnie of Bakersfield, CA and Rodney Adams of Indianapolis, IN. His sisters: Maxine Taylor of Cincinnati, OH and Lisa Adams of Hazard, KY.
His Grandchildren: Bryan Adams of Killeen, TX; Jasmine Cheatham of Lawton, OK; Jeremey Adams of Charlotte, NC; Tre’ Adams of Gulfport, MS; Sandi Wittman of Lawton, OK; Alexis Cheatham of Lawton, OK; Tyler Adams of Gulfport, MS;Sonya Adams of Lawton, OK; Leah Fuller of Killen, TX; Joshua Adams of Charlotte, NC; Christopher Adams of Sumter, SC; and Michelle Adams of Little Rock, AR. He also leaves behind numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews,cousins, and a special friend, Seiko Reese.
He is preceded in death by parents; his wife, Wilma Adams; his son, Brian Adams; his brother, Homer Williams and his sister, Lydia Combs.
