Memorial service for Gerald Branstietter, 78 of Lawton will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Faith Bible Church with Rev. Leonard Reimer officiating.
Mr. Branstietter passed away on January 6, 2020 in Lawton.
Gerald was born on June 15, 1941 in Richmond, Missouri to Alva and Flossie Jewel (Speck) Branstietter. He grew up in Richmond where he attended school graduating from Harden High School. He joined the United States Marine Corp and served his country. He then worked on the Santa Fe Railroad for 31 years before retiring in 2001. He also served in the Army National Guard for 15 years. He married Joyce Schultz on October 8, 1971 and they lived in Henrietta, Missouri for five years and then lived in Richmond for several years. They then lived in Alaska and moved to Lawton, Oklahoma 2011.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce, of the home; six children, Gerald Branstietter II, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Mary Stewart and husband, Jack, of Lawton, OK, Gerlyn Gilmore of Denver, CO, Bob Branstietter and wife, Donna, of Henrietta, MO, Timothy Wayne Branstietter, and Christopher Hewitt and his wife, of Henrietta, MO; his brother, Larry Branstietter, of Richmond, MO; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by is parents; two brothers; and one sister.
