Memorial service for Gerald "Jerry" Lee Boardman, 61 of Edmond, Oklahoma will be at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel, Lawton, Oklahoma.
Jerry passed away on April 3, 2018 in Edmond, OK.
Jerry was born January 9, 1957 in Los Angeles, CA to Kenneth and Lillian Boardman. He grew up in Cherry Valley where he attended school, graduating from South Whittier High School in 1971. He joined the United States Army and served until he was injured, receiving an honorable medical discharge. He attended Chavez Collection and investigation school and later worked at his mother's agency as a private investigator. Jerry worked as a Recovery Specialist. He moved to Enid, Oklahoma and later to Oklahoma City where he met Debbie Mitchell and they were married on August 8, 1985. They moved to Las Vegas in 1988 and returned to Oklahoma in 1992. They moved to Oklahoma City in 1998 and they made Edmond their home in 2015. Jerry enjoyed fishing, baseball, and playing games on the internet. He loved going to his grandson, Tyson, sports games.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Boardman, of the home; his mother, Lillian Simpson, of Las Vegas, NV; daughter and son in law, Brandy Barber and Tho Phomphiphack, of Oklahoma City, OK; son, Eric Boardman; grandchildren, Tyson Phomphiphack, Alexis and Andrew Boardman; four brothers, Kenneth Boardman, Jim Boardman, Roger Vanwey, Myron Vanwey; three sisters, Cheri Vaughn, Wendy Jones, and Jackie Boardman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Boardman; brother, Kelvin Brown; two sisters, Kathy Kraus and Susan Johnson; and his beloved dogs, Rocky and Gizmo.
