Glinnis Fay Glandon, 83, of Grandfield, OK passed away Sunday, September 29, 2019, at her home in Grandfield.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Gray Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Matt Wyatt, Mission Home Missionary Baptist Church, Wewoka, OK, officiating.
Services are under the direction of Gray Funeral Home in Grandfield, OK.
Mrs. Glandon was born April 11, 1936, in Woodson, TX, to William P. and Hattie May (McLeland) Cuthbertson Sr. She attended school at Taltec, Arizona, from the first until the eighth grade. Glinnis then attended ninth and tenth grades at Eloy, Arizona High School. She married Adolphus Archer, Sr. on October 24, 1952, in Florence, AZ. He passed away September 14, 1976. She received her GED at Coolidge, Arizona, in 1965. She attended Great Plains Vo Tech at Lawton, OK, in 1978-79, where she graduated from Nursing School. She then began working at Wichita Falls General Hospital and worked there for one year. At that time she was employed at the Wichita Falls State Hospital for many years. Glinnis later worked at the Grandfield Nursing Home, as director of nurses for four years before having to retire because of her arthritis. She married Charles E. Glandon on October 14, 1983, at Wichita Falls, Texas. They made their home in Grandfield. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. Glinnis loved to take care of Pop, her children, and all of her family.
She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Glandon, Grandfield, OK; her sons, Adolphus Archer Jr. of Grandfield, OK, John William Archer Sr. and Melody of Seminole, TX; her stepsons, Charles L. Glandon and Renee of Grandfield, OK, Kenny Glandon and Geraldine of London, England, and Tim Glandon Sr. and Terrie of Pangburn, AK; her daughters, Diane Turner and Clay of Rusk, TX, Helen Whitmore and Wayland of Grandfield, Ok, Rosalie King and Darrell of Vernon, TX; her brother, Frank (Pete) Cuthbertson and Dale of Fairfield, TX; her grandchildren, Regina Pfaff, Timmy Head, Charlie Head, Robert Spradlin, Perry Spradlin, Dwayne Hill, Timothy Glandon, Jr., Jennifer Wyatt, Chavaughn Colwell, John William Archer II, Schonda Archer, Jeremy Archer, Candace Archer, Katie Braddock, and Kelsie King; numerous great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Glandon is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; her daughter, Louise Poor; her brothers, Elmer Cuthbertson and Bill Cuthbertson; her sisters, Marthe Fields, Ruby Lemon, Doris Roberts, and Velma Sewell; and her granddaughter, Glinnis (Little Bit) Glandon.
