Graveside service for Harold "Malcolm" Ray, 87, of Lawton will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Letitia Cemetery, Lawton, OK. 

Mr. Ray passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024 at his home. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

Viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. 

Malcolm was born on June 19, 1936 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Thomas Leslie and Lillie Ava (Penland) Ray. Mrs. Ray passed away shortly after Malcolm was born and he and his siblings were raised by his aunt and uncle OV and Bertha Penland. He grew up in Lawton where he attended school and later joined the United States Navy where he served his country for over three years before being honorably discharged. Malcolm married Shirley Ratliff on July 7, 1960 in Anadarko, Oklahoma. They remained in Lawton where Mr. Ray owned and operated Malcolm Ray Trucking Company. He retired in the early 2020's after many years of dedicated service. He and his family loved camping and would spend many weekends out at the lake, playing volley ball and many other outdoor sports. He also enjoyed bowling.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Shirley Ray, of the home; his daughter, Jaquetta Jackie Ray, of Oklahoma City, OK; four sons, Stanley Ray, of Missouri, David Ray, Kenneth Ray, and James Ray, all of Lawton, OK;  many grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces, nephews; and other loving family members. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; his aunt and uncle OV and Bertha Penland; his sister, Charlotte Ivey; and four brothers, Herbert Ray, Vernon Ray, Bill Ray, and Dale Ray Sims.
