Ila Faye Gregory, 100, of Wichita Falls, TX, formerly of Grandfield, OK, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2020, in Wichita Falls.
Graveside service will be Saturday, November 21, 2020, at 2:00 p.m., at the Grandfield Memorial Cemetery, with Jim Antwine, Vernon, TX, officiating.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, masks and social distancing are required at the funeral home and cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Gray Funeral Home, Grandfield, OK.
Mrs. Gregory was born July 5, 1920, in Bryan, TX to Sherman Oscar and Edna Mae (Jones) Risinger. She was the second of seven children, and the last surviving sibling. At a young age the family moved to a rural residence outside of Brownwood, TX. She attended Early Public School graduating from Early High School in 1938, and Faye loved to play volleyball. Faye married William Arthur Gregory on October 14, 1941 in Brownwood, TX. After Arthur's discharge from the Army in 1945 the couple moved to Grandfield, OK, Arthur's home town. There they raised their family and were happy. Faye was baptized into the Church of Christ at the age of 17 and found a loving church home in Grandfield.
Survivors are a son, Dennis and wife Jeanne of Richmond, TX; a daughter, Linda Fritze and husband Richard of Burkburnett, TX; four grandchildren, Angela Hannabass and Michael of Cache, OK, Gregory Fritze and Kim of Gardendale, TX, Lindsey Tyner and Ty of Austin, TX; and Ashley James and Brandon of Richmond, TX, five great grandchildren, Megan Hannabass and fiance, Brad Atkinson, of Stillwater, OK; Morgan Chapman and Fred of Sulphur, OK; Tyler Fritze of Gardendale, TX, Ella and Emma James of Richmond, TX; and one great great grandson, Chap Chapman of Sulphur, OK. She is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2012, and a great granddaughter, Taylor Fritze in 2016.
