Funeral service for Isabelle Ann Franklin, 86, of Lawton will be at 11:00 a.m.,  on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Cameron Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Teel, Pastor and Rev. Bob Jones, Pastor Emeritus, officiating.

Mrs. Franklin joined her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 16, 2015, in Lawton.

Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

There will be a special viewing and visitation for family and friends on Monday, August 17, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Isabelle Ann Franklin, affectionately known by family and friends as “Izzy” or “KiKi”, was the oldest of seven children, and was born in Verden, Oklahoma to Phillip and Josephine Martinez Lopez on May 28, 1929. The family moved to Binger, Oklahoma in 1938 and she graduated from Binger High School in 1947. In 1948, she moved to Weatherford, Oklahoma where she met Lloyd Dwayne Franklin. They married in Wheeler, Texas on September 2, 1950.  They moved to DeRidder, Louisiana while Lloyd was in training before his tour to Korea with the 45th Division (National Guard).

In 1951, Isabelle and Lloyd moved to Lawton where she worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 5 years.  She later worked for Lawton Public schools for 12 years as a teacher’s assistant.

When her husband retired in 1983, they moved to Fort Cobb Lake and lived in the Crow Roost addition. They had 21 happy years at the lake before moving back to Lawton in 2004 due to Lloyd’s failing health.

Isabelle was baptized on June 9, 1954 by Bert York at Cameron Baptist Church. She was always very active in all church activities as long as her health permitted. At Cameron Baptist Church she belonged to Adult 2 Sunday School department, the Prime Time Praise Choir and helped faithfully with the Clothes Closet Ministry.  She belonged to WMU for many years and had a heart for missions and went to Mexico and other places on mission trips. She worked with the nursery age children for over 50 years at church.

Isabelle loved her husband, children, grandchildren & great grandchildren very much.  She never missed any school or church or sports activity they were involved in.  She was a home room mother at Cleveland Elementary School for many years.  Isabelle loved sports, especially OU, the Texas Rangers and the Thunder and never missed watching their games on TV.  She loved to bake and her specialty was apple pie.  She was also famous for her cheese balls which she made for all holiday family get togethers. Now, many of her grandchildren use her recipe and make the famous cheese ball for their own families. Her favorite hobby was quilting and she made quilts for all her children, grandchildren, friends and other family members.

She is survived by three daughters, Debra Ann Evans and husband Ted of Lawton, Oklahoma, Toni Marie Garbutt and friend Roger Lynch, son in law Jimmy Garbutt of Stephenville, Texas and Susan Denise Stoll and husband Russel of Lawton, Oklahoma; her son, Michael Dwayne Franklin and wife Lori of Fort Smith, Arkansas; Grandchildren Misty Lee Warner and husband Chris, Mike Evans and fiancé Meghan Langhann, Lea Lea Garbutt Bills, Thomas Franklin Evans, Phillip Dwayne Stoll and wife Chelsey, Jonathan Franklin and wife Jolie, Chance Garbutt, SaraJane Ann Waack and husband Richard, and Rance Stoll and wife Erin; Great-grandchildren Celeste, Dillon, Tanner, Aiden, Briley, Kynlea, Rayce, Eli, Brier, Timothy  and Keegen and a great grandson on the way; one sister, Juanita Christian of Bethany, Oklahoma; sisters-in-laws,  Nora Lopez, Sue Lopez, Glenda Lopez and Wilma Lopez;  and numerous other dear cousins, nieces, nephews; and a host of loving friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; parents; mother in law and father in law, John & Opal Bills Franklin, five brothers, Phillip, Joe, Willie, Cruz “Cookie”, and Danny Wayne; one grandson Timothy Dwayne Evans; a sister in law & brother in law, Betty Jo & Bob  Francis and brother in law,  Jerry “Chris” Christian.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cameron Baptist Church building fund, at 2621 SW "C" Ave., Lawton, OK 73505.
