Jackie "JD" Dale Barrett, Sr.

Funeral service for Jackie Dale "JD" Barrett, Sr., 72, of Lawton will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 17, 2021 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. 

Mr. Barrett passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021 in Lawton.

Burial will be at Letitia Cemetery, Lawton, Oklahoma.

Viewing will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

JD was born on November 22, 1948 in Lawton, Oklahoma to H.J. "Jack" and Lorene (Hinson) Barrett. He grew up in Lawton where he attended school, graduating from Lawton High School in 1967. He attended Cameron College and worked in the family business, hauling milk. He later began his own trucking company, D & L Express. JD drove a truck for over 50 years. He married Lois Jones on August 10, 1984 in Lawton. His hobby of Hot Rods, building Street Rods, and Drag Racing spanned for many years with his CB handle being "Hot Rod." He instilled the value "Family First" and loved spending time with his family and was always with the grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. 

He is survived by his wife, of 37 years, Lois Barrett, of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jackie Dale Barrett, Jr. and Dalene Barrett, of Glastonbury, CT, Chris and Katie Chapman, of Cache, OK and Clayton and Colbie Chapman, of Cache, OK; his daughter and son-in-law, Charlee and Jesse Blankinship, of Lawton, OK his grandchildren, Shelby Zelnicek and husband, Grant, Madison Barrett, Byndon Barrett, Lane Chapman, Tristen Chapman, Josilyn Chapman, Karlee Chapman, Everly Blankinship, and Addison Blankinship; his great grandchildren, Kinslee Jones, Jaxx Zelnicek, Brantlee Zelnicek, and Lanxton Zelnicek; and a host of other family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Brian Barrett; and two brothers, Ron Barrett and Don Barrett.
