Funeral service for Jacob Lawson "J.L." Bolton, 93 of Lawton will be at 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at University Church of Christ with Minister Eric Sharum, officiating. 

Mr. Bolton passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2019 in Lawton. 

Burial will be at Grandfield Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

A special viewing and visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Monday, June 3, 2019 at the funeral home.

J.L. was born on October 17, 1925 to William A. and Buelah (Lawson) Bolton in Grandfield, Oklahoma. He graduated from Grandfield High School where he was active in football, baseball, and was the class president. He then attended Dallas Aviation College and joined the United States Naval Air Corp on December 13, 1942. He served his country during WWII as an aerial turret gunner on torpedo aircraft.  During his time in the Navy he served aboard four different aircraft carriers. He received many awards and medals including the Victory Medal, European Theater Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Air Medal, and American Campaign Medal. After his honorable discharge in 1946, J.L. worked with the Department of Defense until his retirement. He married the love of his life, Claudine James on October 17, 1947 in Lawton, Oklahoma. To this union three sons were born, James Lawson, Kyle Anthony, and Christopher Todd Bolton. J.L.  worked at Convair Aircraft in Fort Worth,TX; General Dynamics Missile Program in Oklahoma, and Spartan and Page Aircraft in Lawton,OK. J.L. moved to Little Rock, Arkansas and worked for the Department of Defense for 26 years as the Quality Assurance Rep. He was a faithful member of the University Church of Christ, as well as the American Legion and VFW.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Claudine Bolton, of the home; his son, Christopher Todd Bolton and his wife Brenda of Duncan, SC; three grandsons: C.J., Jesse, and Cody Bolton of Duncan, SC; his great grandson, Hayden Bolton; his great granddaughter, Aiyanna Bolton; his brother, Bob Bolton and his wife, Jean of Cloudcroff, NM; his sisters Oleta Rehders of Wichita Falls, TX, and Glenda Gray and her husband, Wesley of Peralta, NM; his daughter in law, Barbara Bolton of Lawton, OK and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; his father in law and mother in law, Charlie and Willie (Gideon) James; two sons: Kyle Anthony Bolton and James Lawson Bolton; his brothers: Bill Bolton and Dr. Floyd Bolton; and his sisters, Hazel McCullough and Christine Huckaby.
