Mr. Bolton passed away Friday, June 1, 2018 in Lawton. James was born September 25, 1949, in Dallas, Texas to Jacob Lawson and Claudine (James) Bolton.  After moving to Lawton, he attended B.C. Swinney Elem. School, Tomlinson Jr. High, and Lawton High School through his sophomore year.  James moved with his family to North Little Rock, Arkansas, where he graduated from Sylvan Hills High School.  He earned an accounting degree at Hot Springs Rehab and then attended the University of Arkansas and the University of Texas, where he earned a degree in psychology.  He was a faithful member of the University Church of Christ.

In spite of many obstacles such as quadriplegia (due to a water skiing accident at the age of 16), he accomplished many things.  He was the President of Our Way Inc., a handicapped apartment facility in Little Rock.  He was on a team of five handicapped individuals, who formed a Non-Profit Organization to obtain grants to build the much needed wheelchair accessible apartment complex.

James married Barbara Carol Hadsall in North Little Rock, Arkansas on September 20, 1980.  They moved to Austin, Texas. While in Austin, James designed and built a super insulated wheelchair accessible home.  James was employed at the VA and later for the Treasury Department, where he retired.  In 2007 he and Barbara moved to Lawton.

James is survived by his wife, Barbara, of the home; his parents, Jacob Lawson & Claudine Bolton of Lawton; his brother, Christopher Bolton and wife Brenda; his nephews, C.J., Jesse, and Cody Bolton; one great nephew, Hayden Bolton; one great niece, Aiyanna Bolton all of Duncan, S.C.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Bruce Hadsall and wife Carol of Pennsylvania, Louise Webb of Maryland, Brenda Nygren and her husband, Dale of Pennsylvania, and JoAnn Walp of Pennsylvania; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Kyle Anthony Bolton; his grandparents, Charlie and Willie James and Bill and Beulah Bolton.
