Word has been received of the passing of James Ray Miller, 64 of Lawton.

Mr. Miller passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2020 in Lawton.

No services are planned at this time. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. 

James was born on May 8, 1956 in Odessa, Texas to Doug and Annie Mae (Coffelt) Miller. He grew up in California and attended junior high in Perris, CA. He moved to Pauls Valley, OK and attended high school there. After graduation, he returned to California and lived there for many years where he worked various jobs. He moved back to Oklahoma in 2013. He lived in Snyder for awhile and moved to Lawton in 2016. James loved sports and was a big OU Football  and Dallas Cowboy fan. He enjoyed playing golf with his brother, Gary. They went several times a week. James never met a stranger and made friends everywhere he went. He was always willing to help out whenever he could. James loved his family and would do whatever he was able to help with. James loved his nieces and nephews. He also loved playing with them and enjoyed watching them play their sports. He had a keen sense of humor and liked to joke around. He will be missed by all who knew him. 

He is survived by two brothers and sisters in law, John and Linda Miller, of Hemet, CA and Gary and Charlotte Miller, of Lawton, OK; four nephews Randy, Scott, Troy, and Michael Miller; one niece, Sarah Miller; his son, Nicholas; his uncle, Bob Jackson; of Snyder, OK; and cousins, Carol and McPhail, of Snyder, OK and Dennis Jackson, of Indiahoma, OK. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Doug and Annie Mae Miller and his great nephew, Teague Miller.
