James "Jim" Loftin

Graveside service for James ‘Jim’ Loftin, 54, of Lawton will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Dr. Keith Miles of Central Baptist Church officiating.

Mr. Loftin passed away on Friday, January 25, 2019 in Lawton.

Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

There will be a special viewing and visitation for family and friends on Monday, January 28, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jim was born on July 16, 1964 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Tom and Linda (White) Loftin. He grew up in Lawton where he attended Garfield Elementary School, Tomlinson Junior High School and Lawton High School, graduating in 1982. Jim then attended Oklahoma State Tech in Okmulgee, Oklahoma where he received his Associate’s Degree. He returned to Lawton and worked for Channel 7 as a Master Control Operator and later for Channel 2 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He moved to the Dallas area, living in Plano and worked as a Fiber Optics Technician. When Jim’s health started to fail, he returned to Lawton in December of 2017 to be near his family. He loved traveling and cooking and was an avid Sooners and Dallas Cowboy fan. He was a quiet, no fuss man who requested a simple graveside service. Jim was loved by everyone and will be missed by all.

He is survived by his parents, Tom and Linda Loftin, of Lawton, OK; his brothers, Steve Loftin, of Lawton, Ok and Russell Loftin and wife, Melissa, of Chattanooga, OK; his sister, Sheri Raleigh and husband, Steve, of Moore, OK; his nieces and nephew, Presley Loftin, Abigail Loftin and Cooper Loftin; his aunts and uncles, Debbie and Steve Bolding, of Broken Arrow, OK and Dick and Ruby Loftin, of Rural Tulsa, OK; and many special friends including Jimmy Priest, of Lawton, OK and Kathy Taylor, of Tulsa, OK.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence and Opal White and Tom and Pauline Loftin, all of Okmulgee, OK.
