Jewell (Pollard) Young

Mrs. Young passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017 in Lawton.

Jewell was born on May 5, 1922 in Marlow, Oklahoma to George and Vina Pollard. She married Ray E. Young on May 14, 1938 in Chickasha, Oklahoma and to that union they had one son, Jerry R. Young. Ray passed away on December 27, 1992. Jewell was a member of the Unity Rebekah Lodge #121 where she served as Noble Grand, Lodge Deputy, District Deputy, and past Noble Grand. She began working at the Community Action in 1973 and retired in 1984.

Nanny is survived by her son and daughter in law, Jerry and Billie Young, of Lawton; two grandsons, Bart Young and wife, Kari of Nocona, Texas, Fred Young and wife, Cindy of Lawton, Oklahoma; and six great grandchildren and their spouses, Sarah and Brent Hewes, Tina and Terry Hackett, Dayna Young, Drew Young, Megan and Trae Koch, and Ryne Young; her great great grandchildren, Makenzie, Zack, Abbie, Emma, Hudson, Cohen, Tripp, Kale, Bodee, and Finn; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray; one sister; and five brothers.

Graveside service for Jewell "Nanny" Young, 95 of Lawton will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. Billy Harmon, pastor of the Cowboy Church officiating.
