Graveside service for Jimmy Levi McConnell, 61, of Lawton will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Lawton, Oklahoma with Pastor Nathan Mills officiating.
Jimmy passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at his home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.
Jimmy was born November 14, 1956 in Oklahoma City, to Gene and Sylvia (Adams) McConnell. He grew up in Lawton and attended Will Rogers Elementary School, Eisenhower Junior High, and Eisenhower High School where he graduated in 1975. He retired from Goodyear Tire Company after 30 years of loyal service. He was recognized for his perfect attendance until his illness forced him to retire. Jimmy loved to try out new restaurants with his family, and watching the Dallas Cowboys play football. He recently celebrated his 61st birthday with his family and thoroughly enjoyed his last few days. He was loved and respected by all he knew, the void left by his passing will be felt for some time.
Jimmy is survived by his sons; Chad McConnell and his wife, Jackie, of Cache, and Nick McConnell and his wife, Candice of Lawton; two grandchildren, Felicity and Kyle of Lawton; brother, Mac McConnell of Lawton; two sisters, Jackie Camp and husband, Jimmy of Sterling, and Regina Plotnik and her husband, John of Sherman, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and his nephew, Christopher McConnell.
