Joey Dale Ray

Joey Dale Ray, 60, of Lawton, OK departed to his heavenly home on September 18th, 2017.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. 

Joey was born on May 5th, 1957 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Leslie “Vernon” and Patricia Ann Ray.  He grew up and attended school in Lawton, graduating from Lawton High School in 1976.  After graduation, he joined the United States Air Force.  After leaving the Air Force, he returned home to live in Lawton.  He worked doing maintenance for many years.  He last worked for B.M.T. of Lawton, leaving due to his health. Joey was a gun enthusiast and loved to go shooting.  He was also known for just hopping in the car and heading off for a drive.  He enjoyed seeing new sights and traveling. 

He is survived by his mother and step father, Patricia Ann and Jay Vickers, of Lawton; his sisters and brothers in law, Susan and Walter Stroud of Lawton, OK and Tracy and Emzla Pitts, of Comanche, OK; his nephews, Dusty Bell and his wife, Kandi of Lawton, OK, Joel Pitts of Edmond, OK, Jared Pitts and Jason Pitts, both of Norman, OK.  He also leaves behind his beloved cat George.

He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Ray.
