Word has been received of the death of Joseph Henry Haas, 68, of Lawton.

Mr. Haas passed away on March 25, 2022.  

No services are planned at this time. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

Joseph was born on March 31, 1953 in Alamogordo, New Mexico to Charles Thorne and Eula Jeanette (Thompkins) Haas. He attended school in Phoenix, Arizona and graduated from high school in Wiamea Kauai, Hawaii in 1972. He proudly served in the United States Army and the National Guard for 26 years of combined service. While in the Army, he was deployed to Desert Storm. Upon his retirement, he took up shoe shining and had many clients at the Comanche County Courthouse in Lawton for several years. Joseph married his soul mate, Heather Bouchard on June 24, 2011 in Lawton, Oklahoma. In August of 2011, after Joseph's health began to decline, he became a resident of the Lawton Fort Sill Veteran's Center. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Heather Haas of the home; his sisters, Ruthie Jost of Tucson, Arizona, Teresa Loop of Rogue River, Oregon, Vickie Neely of Lavon, Texas; and a host of other loving family members and friends.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Tisch Haas.
