Kenneth Houston Wright

Memorial service for Kenneth Houston Wright, 79, of Lawton will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home with George Weber officiating. 
 
Mr. Wright passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2018 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. 

Kenneth was born on August 23, 1938 in Sterling, Oklahoma. He grew up in the Sterling and Lawton area, graduating from Lawton High School in 1957. He married Gloria Owsley on December 27, 1958 and they lived in Wyoming for a year while Kenneth work at a bank before retuning home to Lawton. Mrs. Wright passed away on October 25, 2016. Kenneth worked for awhile at City National Bank, Moore Hat Company, Orkin Pest Control and also worked civil service. He then begin his career with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in 1978 and worked there until his retirement in 1998. He was a volunteer fireman with the Bethel Road Fire Department. He enjoyed raising goats and loved Nascar.    

He is survived by his daughter and son in law, Kathy and Mike DeMarcus, of Saddle Mountain, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Matthew and Ashley DeMarcus, of Saddle Mountain, OK, Jacob DeMarcus, of Lawton, OK and Ryan DeMarcus, of Saddle Mountain, OK;  his great grandchildren, Katie and Josh DeMarcus of Saddle Mountain, OK; Gavin DeMarcus of San Pedro, CA. He also leaves behind many special nieces, nephews and friends.  He considered Jamie, Connie, Faith and Dallis Toth, of Lawton, OK his beloved extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 59 years, Gloria Wright; and his brother, Jim Wright.
