Funeral service for LTC (Ret.) Raymond John Miluszusky Sr., 89, of Lawton will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 in the Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel, with Holy Family Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow the funeral at the Fort Sill Post Cemetery.

Ray passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday November 13, 2019, from complications of Alzheimer’s disease.

Viewing will begin at noon on Monday, November 18, and continue up until the time of his service. Family members will be present at a special visitation from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday November 19, 2019 at the funeral home.

Raymond John Miluszusky Sr. was born September 29, 1930; he was the last survivor of the eighteen children born to William and Theoflia Miluszusky, of Pleasant Mount, PA.

After attending and graduating from high school in Pleasant Mount, PA, he went to college at State Teachers College, in East Stroudsburg, PA. After graduating from college with a BS in Chemistry, he joined the U.S. Army as an enlisted member in 1953. One year later, he was discharged and accepted into OCS class #59 and graduated as a second lieutenant. Ray served from 1953 until his retirement in 1974. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 5 Service Bars, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal and Parachute Badge. Upon retiring from the Army, he worked as a real estate broker and as a Chemistry and Physics teacher at Eisenhower High School. In his leisure time, he enjoyed gardening and golfing, but his greatest passion in life was to serve others, which he did through his heartfelt volunteerism. He was a member of the M.O.W.W.  He was a Eucharistic minister and lector at Holy Family Catholic Church. He was actively engaged with the St. Vincent de Paul Society. He served at the St. John’s soup kitchen and as a greeter at the Military Welcome Center at the Lawton/Fort Sill Regional Airport.  

Ray leaves behind his daughter Anne and husband Bruce Robinette, of Lawton, OK., his son LTC.(Ret.) William Miluszusky, MD and wife Ana of Manassas, VA., daughter Peggy and husband Michael Wright, of Lawton, OK., and son Andrew Miluszusky, of Lawton, OK., his grandchildren Austin Miluszusky, Aaron Miluszusky, Jason Miluszusky, Sammi Jo Seabourn, Jennifer Robinette, Taylor Robinette, Chelsea Robinette, Kristopher Wright, Jordan Wright, and Brandon Wright. He also leaves behind six great grandchildren; as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Ray is preceded in death by the mother of his children and first wife Dorothy Miluszusky, his second wife, Hazel Miluszusky, his seventeen siblings, his son Raymond John Miluszusky Jr., his daughter Mary Pat Miluszusky and his grandson, Keith Banks.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Holy Family Church, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Lawton, OK., or to Oklahoma Alzheimer’s Association in Ray’s honor.
