Larry Richard Davis

Graveside service for former Lawton resident, Larry Richard Davis, 80, of Burleson, TX will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, November 10, 2023 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

Viewing will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a special viewing and visitation for family and friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. 

Larry Richard Davis changed his earthly address to Heaven on November 5, 2023 the age of 80 years, 11 months, and 20 days. Larry was born to Homer Alexander and Ulus Beatrice (Newmon) Davis on November 17, 1942 in Lawton, Oklahoma. He graduated From Lawton High School in 1961. He married the love of his life, Judy Nadine Barker, on March 17, 1965 in Wichita Falls, TX and with this union three daughters were born. Larry was a civil servant at Fort Sill starting in cold storage, transferring to the Commissary where he held positions as a cashier, front end manager, accounting and produce manager, retiring in 1994. He worked For Goodwill Industries of SW Oklahoma as Contract Manager at the Altus Commissary for a short while. 

He and Judy then owned and operated Fisherman's Cove Cafe at Lake Ellsworth from 1995 - 1998, until they decided to go South to Walls, Mississippi for work and fun in Tunica. They moved to Rowlett, TX to help care for their last grandson in 2005. In 2014, when Larry's health started to decline, they moved to Burleson to live with their daughter Lisa.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Don B (Edna Faye) Davis; his grandchildren Cheyney, Cheree, and Deven Alexander Davis, his in laws, Claude and Mildred Barker; and his brother in laws Claudie Foster Barker and Jack Russell.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sister Mariann Russell, of Tulsa Ok; his daughters Claudia (Will McQueen) Davis-Rivers, of Little Elm TX, Lisa Davis, of Burleson, TX, and Penny (Rob) Dobney, of Rowlett, TX; his grandchildren Kyarra (Whitney) Davis-Netter, Matthew Davis, Kianna Edwards, Kylan Edwards, Charles (Odalys) Criger, Tristan Dobney, his great grandchildren Aliyana, Alexander, and Abriella Criger; and his beloved dog JJ.
