Leona Adams

Funeral service for Leona Adams, 91, of Lawton will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel.  

Burial will be at Highland Cemetery.  

Mrs. Adams passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2019 in Lawton.

There will be a special viewing and visitation for family and friends on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. 

Leona was born on December 18, 1927 in the Post Oak Community, south of Cache, Oklahoma. She attended schools in Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico, graduating at the age of 16 from Hobbs New Mexico High School in 1943 and attended Cameron Junior College in Lawton. Leona married James Wesley Adams on February 8, 1946 in the Chapel at Holy City of the Wichita's. They lived in Lawton all their married life. Mr. Adams passed away on December 26, 1998. Mrs. Adams was employed by Montgomery Ward, Page Aircraft-Northrop and retired as a receptionist at a local law firm. She was a member of Northwest Church of Christ.  Leona was an avid OU sports and Thunder Basketball fan. She loved her family and will be missed by all.   

She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Dick and Marsha Adams, of Lawton; her daughter and son in law, Janet and Wayne Allison, of Oklahoma City, OK; her sister in law, Jo Ann Adams; of Lawton; her brother in law, Gary Adams and wife, Cheryl, of Bedford, TX; her grandchildren and their spouses, Holly and Todd Devine, Heather and Will Moore, Ashlee  and Nic Rich, Tracie  and Coy Burns, Sarah and Brandon Hutchison, Abby and Sam Taylor, and Brent Bowles; her great grandchildren, Amber and spouse, Tyler, Hayden, Jacob and fiance', Kalee, Gracie, Aaron, Adron, Westin, Coen, Nolan, Charlotte, Decker, and Crew; great great grandchildren, Noah and one on the way in December; her half brother, Dennis Lynch; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and  a host of loving friends. 

She was preceded in death by her mother and step father, Ethel and Morgan Anderson; her father and step mother, Dennis and Geneva Lynch; her half bothers, James Lynch, Delee Lynch, Deree Lynch, and Denee Lynch; and her sister in law, Barbara Lee.
