Leonard Harrison Buchanan

Funeral service for Leonard Harrison Buchanan will be on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Eddie Coast, Trinity Baptist Church officiating. 

Mr. Buchanan passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018 in Lawton.

Burial will be at Grandfield Memorial Cemetery. 

Viewing will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a special viewing and visitation for family and friends on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. 

Leonard Harrison Buchanan was born on May 22, 1932 in Tillman County to Earl and Stella (Bilderback) Buchanan. He graduated from Loveland High School where he lettered in basketball and baseball. He married Revonda Ryan on December 4, 1950. They moved to Lawton in 1957 where he eventually became the circulation manager for Lawton Publishing Company, retiring in 1998. He and Revonda moved to Grandfield, Oklahoma in 2001 and they owned and operated Grandfield Trading Post where he enjoyed another one of his passions... talking to people. Leonard loved going to auctions and real estate sales but got his greatest pleasure from his grandkids and great grandkids.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Revonda, of the home; his daughter and son in law, Rita and Steve Hawkins; his son, Randy Buchanan; his sisters, Pearlie Stegall, of Spencer, OK and Trilla Cox, of Oklahoma City, OK; granddaughter, Cara Penick and her husband, Mikel; grandsons, Brent Buchanan and wife, Stephanie and Adam Buchanan and wife, Rachel, and Ryan Hawkins; his great grandchildren, Rylee, Morgan, Kagen, Kyle and Kaylee Buchanan, Shelby, Kayla and Dillon Penick, Ryan Stephen II and Sarai Hawkins. 
He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; and his brother, E.L. Buchanan.
