Graveside service for Lorita King-Browning, 80, of Devol, OK will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday October 2, 2020 at the Devol Cemetery, Pastor Justin Cardwell will officiate.
Rita passed away on Friday September 25, 2020.
Rita was born on July 6, 1940 in Grandfield, OK to Vernon and Inez Speir. Rita grew up in and attended school in Devol, OK until she got married at fifteen. Rita had her first child and started her family at the age of sixteen. She earned her G.E.D and then went on to attend Cameron University. Rita graduated from Cameron in 1985 with a Bachelor’s degree in business. On August 14, 2005, Rita married Jerry Browning. Rita was very active in every family function she could make from weddings to birthdays. She attended as many school functions as possible for her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. She was a very active member of her church for the majority of her life. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school and working in the church’s nursery. She loved to read and to travel as often as possible.
She is survived by her husband Jerry of the home; her son: Kenneth “ Wayne” King Jr. and his wife Brenda of Sapulpa, OK; her daughters: Susan Morton of Las Vegas, NM and Debora Dunham and her husband Gary of Grandfield, OK; nine grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandson: Brian Fife; granddaughter: Angelica Houston; brothers: Dickie and Joe Speir; sisters: Peggy Smith and Patsy White and her son in law: Richard Morton.
