A Memorial Service for MSG (ret) Harrell Eugene “Gene” Allgood, 73, of Wichita Falls, TX  will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Grandfield, OK.  Tony Nickel, pastor of the Grandfield First Baptist Church, will officiate.  Services are under the direction of Gray Funeral Home.

Mr. Allgood passed away in Wichita Falls, TX on Monday, April 24, 2023.

Eugene was born January 28, 1950 in Boise City, OK to Chester Lee and Alice Faye (Brannum) Allgood .  He grew up in Chattanooga, graduating from Chattanooga High School in 1968.  Eugene joined the Air Force, where he was an air traffic controller.  He served in VietNam.  After being honorably discharged, he joined the Army National Guard until retiring in 1992.  He married Janet Lee (Benoit) Allgood on June 18, 2007 in Wichita Falls, TX.  Eugene loved to fish for leisure and in tournaments.  He was a member of the Bass Pro Circuit.  Mr. Allgood was a loving dad, Pappy, and spouse.  He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Mr. Allgood is survived by his wife of the home, Janet Allgood;  his sons, Cody Houston Allgood and Madison of Wichita Falls, TX and Joshua Bertrand of Kaplan, LA;  his daughters, Heather Kauffman and Bryan of Wichita Falls, TX, Amee Allgood and Glenn Houston of Grandfield, OK, and Alisa Findley and Terry of Wichita Falls, TX; his sister, Betty Sheffield and Eddie of Frederick, OK; his grandchildren, Karrigan Kinzer, Kourtnee Kinzer, Kinnedey Kinzer, Camee Witt, RenaeLeigh Findley, Kotton Kinzer, Carsyn Findley, Austin Allgood, Jaylee Findley, Amelia Allgood, Lincoln Allgood, Lillian Allgood, Kaydence (KK)  Bertrand; great grandchildren, Kendallynn, Kai, Gracen, Kartyr,and Dutton (on the way); and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Eugene is preceded in death by his wife, Claudia (Watson) Allgood; his parents, Chester and Alice Allgood; and his brother, Dewayne Brannum.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Rd., Wichita Falls, TX 76310 or Wounded Warriors Project.
