Major Ronald Olan Brown

Graveside service for Major Ronald Olan Brown, RA Retired,  will be at 12:00 p.m., Friday, June 21, 2019, at Post Cemetery, 
Fort Sill, Oklahoma with Monty Baggett officiating.    

Mr. Brown passed away from natural causes at his home on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 in Lawton. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

Ronald was born on February 13, 1941 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Robert Bryan Brown and Evelyn (Hankins) Brown. His father was military and the family lived in many states including Lawton where he attended school. He joined the United States Army and served his country for 21 years with two tours in Vietnam. He received many awards and medals including the Bronze Star. Ron married Johannah Cargill in December of 2005 in Lawton, Oklahoma. He was a Mason and he also loved sports. Ron played baseball and coached and later was an officiant. He loved the OU Sooners, Dallas Cowboys, Thunder Basketball, and Texas Rangers.  

He is survived by his wife, Johannah Brown, of the home; his mother, Evelyn Brown, of Oklahoma City; his step sons and their spouses, Wade (Melanie) Riley, and Dan (Megan) Riley; his step daughter and her husband, Shannon (Adam) Schier of Grand Rapids, MI; his brother and sister in law, Robert and Cheryl Brown, of Whitt, Texas; his step grandchildren, Connor Gibbons, Evher Riley, and Hannah Riley; his nephews, Brian (Stacey) Brown, Aaron (Dawn) Brown, Sgt. Ryan Brown, and Holland Brown; his great nieces and nephews, Dakota, Sgt. Kenneth, Daisy, Olivia, Parker, and Brady; and his great great niece, Reagan Sofia. 

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Bryan Brown.
