Margaret "Polly" Weatherly

Funeral service for Margaret “Polly” Weatherly, 72, of Lawton will be at Noon on Thursday, November 7, 2019 in the Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel; Rev. Jerrold Weatherly will officiate. 

Burial will be at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma.

There will be a special viewing and visitation for family and friends on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. 

Mrs. Weatherly passed away at her home in Lawton on Monday, October 28, 2019. 

Margaret was born on September 20, 1947 in Chester, PA to James and Irene Cleveland. Margaret grew up in and attended school in Chester, PA.  She graduated from Chester High School in 1966.  While she was a student in high school, she meet the love of her life, David Weatherly.  On August 26, 1967, Margaret married David in Elkton, MD.  David joined the U.S. Army and the Weatherly family was stationed in various locations throughout his twenty plus year military career.   David retired from the Army in 1994 and the Weatherly family made Lawton, OK their permanent home.  Margaret worked as a mental health care technician for many years. In her free time: she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, sewing, and traveling.  Occasionally she could be found listening to music and relaxing with a glass of wine on her sofa.  However, her greatest joy in life was spending time with her husband and their children.

She is survived by her husband David; her sons and their significant others, David Weatherly Jr. and Terri Hemingway & Derick Weatherly and Chevalla Belland all of Lawton, OK.  Her daughter and son in law; Crystal and John Dillingham of Lawton, OK.  Her brother and sister in law; Jimmy and Janice Cleveland of Clarksville, TN.  Her three sisters: Elaine Smith of Salinas, CA, Leanna Keene of Chester, PA and Cassandra Armwood and her husband Calvin of Chester, PA.  Her Grandchildren: Marcus Dillingham of Lawton, OK; Christopher Dillingham of Okinawa, Japan; Elisha Dillingham and his wife, Cassie of Bellevue, NE; Brandon Dillingham of Lawton, OK; Alexis Weatherly of New Bern, NC and Tatiana Weatherly of Greensboro, NC.  Her great-grandson Asher Jones of Greensboro, NC.  She also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers in law: Harvey Keene and Kenneth Smith.
