Marian took her journey to Heaven on November 2, 2018 at her home in Cache, OK surrounded by her loving family.

Marian was born on April 3, l938 in Lawton to Jim and Charmis Lawson. She was the second of six siblings. She grew up on a farm northwest of Lawton. She attended Elgin Public Schools. She married Glenn Jeffreys in 1953. They were blessed with 2 daughters, Jody and Sharon.  On August 3, 1963 she married Walter C. Barrett in Elgin, Oklahoma and enjoyed 42 years of making many friends and fond memories. He died in January of 2005.  Marian started her working career in the 1950’s at Humpty Dumpty Grocery in Lawton. She joined City National Bank working as a teller from August 1960, retiring in January 1978. She and Walter then moved to Texas starting their own trucking/demolition company retiring in 2004. She then started working for Tom Hirosky at DHW Enterprises, Dallas, TX, as office manager until her retirement in 2017.   Tom was a close family friend that she considered to be the son she never had. She then moved to Cache, OK to share a home with her sister, Kay.  Marian will certainly be missed by a host of family and friends. She was a social butterfly and loved a party.  Her home was always open for entertaining, the most famous ones being the “sibling reunion weekends” that she hosted for many years. The shenanigans from those weekends created memories that will not be soon forgotten. Marian’s fun-loving personality earned her the name of “Crazy Marian” which she was affectionately called by many family members but especially her nieces and nephews. She made lifetime friends wherever she lived and was an absolute joy to be around.

She is survived by two daughters: Jody Hill and her husband, Steve of Nashville, TN and Sharon Jenkins and her husband, Jim of Lawton, OK; grandchildren: Skye Gedge, Seth Buttram, Dylan Hill, Bethany Hill, Sabre Clayton and Lauren Flewellen; great-grandchildren:  Taylor and Jaeden Buttram, Jack and Grace Clayton and Fletcher and Brooksey Flewellen. Her Siblings: Warner Lawson and wife, Frankie of Hereford, TX, Paula Whitecotton and husband, Billy of Nocona, TX, Ron Lawson and wife, Karen of Spiro, OK, and Kay Cox of the home; sisters-in-law, Kay Hopkins McDowell and husband, Larry of Maybank, TX and Nancy Young-Harris of Fort Worth, TX; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and loving friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister; Genevieve Beale, brothers-in-law, J.D. Cox and John Hopkins.

A special thanks to Rhonda Reed and Debbie McDonald for their loving care these last few months.
