Mercedes Holmes Lien

Graveside service for Mercedes Holmes Lien, 85, will be at held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. 

Mercedes passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022 in Chickasha, Oklahoma with her daughter by her side. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. 

She was born on October 18, 1936 in Barre, Vermont to Gelasio and Lillian (Spreadbury) Gomez. She grew up in Barre where she attended school. She married Wilmer Edward Holmes in 1954 and raised their family in Washington, Vermont. She worked at Sprague Electric and retired after 20 years. Mercedes and Wilmer moved to Cache in 1994. Wilmer passed away in 2005. They had a beautiful 50 years of marriage. In 2013, she married James Lien who passed away in 2021. 

She is survived  by her sons and daughters in law, Wilmer and Virginia Holmes, of OK and Timothy and Andrea Holmes, of GA; her daughters, Gale Holmes, of GA, Lori Demingware, of VT, and Heidi Holmes, of OK; 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a daughter; a grandson; and all of her siblings.
