Funeral Services for Mereta Opal Clark, 95, of Lawton, Oklahoma will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday March 28, 2018 in the Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel, Mr. Ken Couch will officiate the service.
Interment will follow her service at Sunset Memorial Gardens
Mereta was born on February 2, 1923 in Verden, OK to Jack and Fannie Mae Skipworth. She was raised in and went to school in the cities Verden, Blanchard, and Tuttle. She was set up on a blind date with Roye Clark. She went on that date and it began the life long love story that the two of them shared. She married Roye Grover Clark on March 19, 1960 in Vernon, Texas. Roye was from Lawton, OK and after their marriage they settled in Lawton. She was a home maker and she enjoyed bird watching, gardening, cooking and crafts.
She is survived by one son Terry Clark and his wife Carolyn of Bixby, OK. Two daughters: Betty Ann Martinez-Cade and her husband Al and Charlotte Benefield and her husband Larry, both couples reside in Lawton, OK. Her grandchildren: Jason Sullivan and his wife Gia, Brandy Martinez, Brooke Martinez-DuBose, Tanner D. Clark, and Micheal Benefield and his wife Edwina. Her great grandchildren: Dylan Sullivan, Kendall Sullivan, Maleena Sullivan,Gracelyn Sullivan, Jason Sullivan, Justine Casillas, Caitlynn Sullivan, Gavin Sullivan, Vallen Sullivan, Roye Pendergraph-Martinez, Ileahna Wixey, Branden Jones, Monique DuBose, Adrianna DuBose, Michelle Vaughan and her husband Cory, Cody West and Kyndra Mason. Her great great grandchildren: Evyn Sullivan, Kendon Sullivan, Kenai Sullivan, Annabel West, and the soon to be born Wyatt Vaughan.
She is preceded in death by her husband Roye, her parents, her brother and sisters.
