Ouida Sue Welch

Funeral Service for Ouida Sue Welch, 70, of Cache, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 9, 2018 at the Cache Christian Church at 201 NW 5th Street, Cache, Oklahoma with Pastor John Webb officiating

Burial will be at the Cache Cemetery, Cache, Oklahoma under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. 

A special viewing and visitation will be held on Thursday March 8, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. 

Ouida Sue was born on June 6th, 1947 in Ruston, Louisiana to Warren and Ouida Devonne Stephenson, one of six children. Ouida graduated from Caddo High School in Vivian. Ouida married Leroy Chapman and to this union twin daughters were born. She later married Larry Stier and they had three children together. On September 7, 2002, she married Jeff Welch. Together she and Jeff built their dream home on 108 acres which is just west of Cache, Oklahoma.  Ouida was a very loving mother.  In addition to her own children and her step children, she also fostered numerous children throughout the years. Ouida was a hard worker and never let the fact that she was missing a hand stop or limit her in anyway.  In order to support herself and her children, she worked outside the home as a real estate agent for Re/Max and Century 21.  She was a strong woman who always accomplished what she set out to do.  She loved her dogs, her garden and her roses.  She was an excellent cook and had won several ribbons for her canning at the county fair. She also enjoyed sewing.  She attended Cache Christian Church in Cache, OK, having been invited by a lady she met at Walmart in the canning department, Francis, and they became fast friends.  

She is survived by her husband, Jeff Welch, of the home; her children and their spouses: Devonne  Vesta and her husband, Mike, of Brunswick, GA, LeAnn Willingham, and her husband, Lee of Flint, MI, Amanda Hill and her husband, Bill, of Lawton, OK, Larry Stier and his wife, Hillary, of Lawton, OK,  and Chris Stier and his partner, Cameron, of Lawton, OK; her stepchildren, Troy Stier and his wife, Deborah, of South Texas; Eddie Welch and wife, Sheila, of Arkansas, Joey Welch, of Arkansas,  and Shani Smith, of Massachusetts; two brothers and sisters in law, Johnny and Clarise Stephenson, of Tulsa, OK and Roger and Ellen Stephenson, of Wisconsin; two sisters and a brother in law, LaWanna and Buddy Fowler, of Coushatta, LA and Sonia McCrary, of Vivian, LA; 20  grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Devonne Stephenson; and her brother, Rodney Stephenson; her nephew, H.M. Fowler.
