Pearl Dorrell

Funeral service for Pearl Dorrell, 97, of Lawton will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2017 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Gill, of Gore Boulevard Church of Christ officiating. 

Mrs. Dorrell passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 in Lawton.

Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Lawton, Oklahoma.

Pearl was born on March 2, 1920 in Tishomingo, Oklahoma to Richard and Effie (Trett) Ray. Her parents were share croppers so Pearl grew up in many areas in Oklahoma and she graduated from Carnegie High School. She married Trueman Dorrell on February 5, 1939 in Carnegie, Oklahoma and they came to Lawton in 1940. He passed away on April 6, 1985. Pearl worked at Harold's Pharmacy and at Mt. Scott Canning. She was also a homemaker. She loved her family and liked going to the coffee shop to visit with friends. She also enjoyed going to the Wichita Mountains.      

She is survived by her son, Kenneth Dorrell and his wife, Margaret; her grandson; Jeff Dorrell; and her great granddaughter, Kendra Dorrell, all of Lawton, OK.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Calvin Ray, Clyde Ray, R.L. Ray, and Tommy Ray; and two sisters, Versa Anderson and Myrtle Wiles.
