Phyllis Jean Garrett

Memorial service for Phyllis Jean Garrett, 73 of Lawton will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Tony Hensley officiating. 

Ms. Garrett passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 in Lawton.

Phyllis was born on December 16, 1944 in Grampian, Pennsylvania to Thomas and Jessie (McCracken) Mathews. She grew up in Lawton where she attended school. She worked for 11 years at Lawton Manufacturing and later at the Lawtonian Retirement Center for many years. She married Robert Garrett on July 9, 1961 in Lawton, OK. Phyllis was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. She enjoyed playing Tetris and working crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed sewing and running around with her best friend, Annie Gagliardi until her passing in December.

She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Carlene R. and Matthew Wozniak, of Lawton, OK; three sons and daughters in law, Robert D. and Laura Garrett, of Lawton, OK, Ronald D. and Linda Garrett, of Elgin, OK, and Shawn A. and Robin Garrett, of Lawton, OK; her sister, Dorthy Van Huss, of Big Bear, CA; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and numerous Nieces and Nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Judy Lambert and Amy Kelly.
