Raymond McAlister

Funeral service for Raymond McAlister, 60, of Lawton will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Cameron Baptist Church. 

Raymond passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 in Lawton.

Burial will be at Old Elgin Cemetery, Elgin, Oklahoma under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. 

Viewing will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. an Monday, from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a special viewing and visitation for family and friends on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. 

Raymond Lee McAlister was born on December 18, 1957 to T.J. "Mac" and Sybil (Stinnett) McAlister. Raymond was raised on the south side of Lawton and attended school at Lincoln Elementary. Being the very special young man that he was, he also attended the Robert Greiner School for Handicapped Children and Young Adults for many years. 

The Lord gave Raymond a special blessing that he has shared with many others over the course of his life on this earth. He led a very busy life participating in church functions, sporting events, rodeos, stock car races, county courthouse activities and the Oklahoma Special Olympics. He was famously known as "Bicycle Raymond" because he rode his bicycle everywhere, especially in local parades, always sporting the American Flag. Raymond was one of a kind and never let his handicap rule over his life. He will be sadly missed by all, but all have truly been blessed by knowing him. 

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and his step-father, Joe Standridge. 

Raymond is survived by many friends of the Lawton community and surrounding areas. 

Raymond was a welcomed member of many organizations over the past 40 years. He never knew a stranger.
