Rebecca Love Whistler

Word has been received that Rebecca Love Whistler, 64, of Fletcher, Oklahoma passed away suddenly on November 23, 2019 in Lawton, Oklahoma.

Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

No services are planned at this time. 

Rebecca was born on January 27, 1955 in Nashville, TN to Harold and Clara Chandler. The family lived in Nashville, TN until relocating to St. Petersburg, FL when Rebecca was five. During Desert Shield/Desert Storm Rebecca participated in a letter writing campaign to troops who were deployed; this is how she and the love of her life met. She and Lloyd Whistler were pen pals. Once Lloyd came home from Kuwait, they met in person and shortly afterward were married. They married on January 30, 1990 in St. Petersburg, FL. Lloyd was transferred to Fort Sill in 1990.  Lloyd got out of the Army in 1992 but he and Rebecca decided to stay and make Oklahoma their home.  Rebecca was extremely intelligent and had a particular knack for trivia. She loved old cars, going to the movies and music. If asked about a particular car, she could tell you all about it. Same went for movies and music. Rebecca worked for the American Red Cross.  

She is survived by her husband, Lloyd, of the home; her daughter and son in law, Rachel and Nathan Beadles, of Lawton, OK; and her brother, William Chandler, of St. Petersburg, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and grandparents.
