Sarah Jane Wade went home to be with the good Lord on Friday, February 8, 2019.
Funeral Mass will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Phil Seeton officiating.
Burial will be at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.
A wake service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, February 11, 2019 at the Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel.
Sarah was born on October 12, 1941 in Lawton, OK to Edward and Jewell Morris. She grew up in Lawton and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1959. She graduated from Cameron College where she was the football queen in 1961. She married her high school sweetheart, Charles " Chuck" E. Wade Jr. on June 16, 1962 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She helped put Chuck through law school by working at Household Finance in both St. Louis, MO and Oklahoma City, OK until he graduated from law school in 1965. In 1966 Chuck entered the Air Force and was stationed in Colorado Spring, CO for three years. Their two daughters, Diana Jane and Melissa Ann, were born in the Air Force Academy Hospital in 1967 and 1968. Upon leaving the Air Force, Chuck and Sarah, returned to Lawton where Chuck began his private law practice. Their son, Charles E. "Chad" Wade III was born in 1973 in Lawton. Sarah was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic minister. She was a member of the Lawton Junior Service League and various other organizations. She loved to play golf and was an excellent competitor. She was a member of the Lawton Country Club Ladies Golf Association and won multiple club championships. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved doting on her family and taking care of her grandchildren. She loved shopping and cooking for her family.
She is survived by her husband Chuck, two daughters, Diana and her fiance Bryan Reed of Norman, Missy and her husband Jim Choate of Lawton, and her son Chad Wade and his fiance Elizabeth Berg of Lawton. Three granddaughters: Mckenzie and Matti Choate of Lawton and Lauren Clark of Norman. Cousins Mary Morris Tippit of Dallas, Susy Morris of Oklahoma City, Sammy and Joed Morris of Lawton.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
