Funeral service for Sharon Kay Allen, 59, of Lawton will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 28, 2019 in the Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel; Billy Harmon of The Lost Cowboy Church will officiate.
Burial will be at Highland Cemetery of Lawton, Oklahoma.
There will be a special viewing and visitation for family and friends on Sunday, October 27, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Allen passed away at her home in Lawton on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 .
Sharon was born on October 14, 1960 in Frankfurt, Germany to William and Ingrid (Gaedigk) Martello. Sharon's father was in the U.S. Army. The family was stationed in various locations; the Martello family returned to the Lawton/Fort Sill area in 1975. Sharon's father retired from the Army in 1984 and they made Lawton, OK their permanent home. Sharon attended and graduated from Lawton High School in 1978. After high school she attended Cameron University and earned her bachelors degree in business management. She returned to Cameron University and earned her Masters of Education. Sharon worked for the Lawton Public School System for twenty seven years. She taught at Sullivan Village Elementary School; during her time at Sullivan she taught first grade, third grade and special education. In her free time she enjoyed reading and spending time on her computer. Her greatest joy in life was her son. She was a dedicated and hard working teacher and mother. She deeply loved her students and she will be greatly missed by all of them.
She is survived by her son: Billy Allen of the home; her sisters and brother in law: Karen and Allen Granger of Lawton, OK and Terry Ann Moore, of Oklahoma City, OK; her Aunt and Uncle, Charlotte and James Austin of Ham Lake, MN; her nieces: Jennifer Granger of Lawton, OK, Elizabeth Moore and her husband, Matthew of Lawton, OK, Katie Wilson and husband, Zeph of Dallas, TX; her great nieces, Whitney, Brooklyn, and Vanessa Moore all of Lawton, OK; and numerous cousins
