Sharon S. Smitherman

Memorial service for Sharon S. Smitherman, 65 of Lawton will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Teel, pastor of Cameron Baptist Church officiating.    

Sharon passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018 in Lawton.

Sharon was born on September 22, 1953 in Lawton, Oklahoma. Her parents were John L. and Arlie Belle (Griffin) Smitherman. Her dad was in the military and the family lived in many locations. After his retirement, the family returned to Lawton and she graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1971. Sharon enjoyed working at Holiday Inn and later at Felton Dean's Pontiac. She later worked at Clinton Herring Lincoln Mercury. Most recently, she was the office manager for the Habitat for Humanity in Lawton. Sharon was an excellent bookkeeper, accountant and manager. She loved Nascar. She will be missed by all who knew her. 

She is survived by her step mother, Linda Smitherman, of Lawton, OK; aunts and uncles, Clinton Herring, Sr., and Marilyn Drew; her cousins, Clint and Fran Herring, Earl and Ruth Herring, James and Jane Ann Herring, Ruth Anne Herring, Cathy and Chris Wike, Greg Herring, Shelly Williams, Randy Gossett, Gary and Pippa Gossett, Ricky Drew, Ronnie Drew, Russell Drew, Denton Jones, and Dick Woodman. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her aunts and uncles, Herman and Faye Jones, Bill Herring, and Mary C. Herring, Mary Gossett; and her cousins, Donald Jones, Linda Woodman, Andy Herring, Rod Herring and Jeff Gossett.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Habitat for Humanity at 1006 SW E Ave, Lawton, Oklahoma 73501.
