Shirley Sue Dale

Funeral service for Shirley Sue Dale, 84, of Geronimo, OK will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 8,2019 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Mallow, pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church officiating.    

Mrs. Dale passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 in Lawton.

Burial to immediately follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. 

Viewing and visitation will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. 

Shirley was born on November 16, 1934 in Wichita Falls, Texas to C.H. "Pop" and Lucille Lovelle (Fulfer) Wilkins. The family moved to The Dells, Oregon where she attended grade school and junior high school. She returned to Wichita Falls and graduated from high school and she attended business School. She married William "Bill" Watkins and they moved to Lawton, Oklahoma where they adopted their son, Charles. She worked for White's Department Store and then begin her career with civil service where she retired. She also worked as a Reserve Deputy for the Comanche County Sheriff's Department. She married Tommy Dale on October 22, 1976 in Lawton, OK and they were soul mates til the end. They enjoyed motorcycling and traveling and were members of the Blue Knights and the Harley Owner's Group. Shirley and Tommy visited 49 of the 50 states.  Shirley was also a member of the Lawton Council of the Blind and a member of the Geronimo Baptist Church.   

She is survived by her loving husband, Tommy Dale, of the home; her son, Charles Blane Watkins, of Mabank, TX; her step son and daughter in law, Terry and Leslie Dale, of Keller, TX; her step daughter, Tammy (Dale) Sparks, of Fort Worth, TX; many loved grandchildren and great grandchildren; her sisters in law and brothers in law, Naioma and Cecil Wilson, Juanita Davis, Suann Sales, Linda Graham, and Bobby and Joyce Dale; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of loving friends including her best friends, Fran, of Altus, Debbie of Lawton, and Sally of Geronimo. 

She was preceded in death by her parents.
