Stanley L Cothren

Funeral service for Stanley Cothren, 67, of Lawton will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Cameron Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Teel, pastor and Chaplain Leonard Reimer officiating. 

Mr. Cothren passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017 in Lawton. 

Burial will be at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

There will be a special viewing and visitation for family and friends on Monday, June 5, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  

Stanley L. Cothren was born on April 15th, 1950, to Clarence and Lorene (Logue) Cothren.  He grew up in Lawton, attending Will Rogers Elementary School, Central Junior High School and Lawton High School, graduating in 1968.  He worked for Coca Cola, Western Welding, EZGO, and Stripes.  He enjoyed racing at the Lawton Speedway from 1972 to 1985. He married Paula K. (Dodson) Cothren on January 26, 2008 at the Cameron Baptist Church in Lawton. He was a member of Cameron Baptist Church where he attended the Adult 2 Sunday School Class. Stan enjoyed playing Wii Golf with Paula.

He is survived by his wife, Paula K. Cothren, of the home; his son, Scott D. Cothren and his wife, Shannon, of Fort Stewart, Georgia; two grandsons, Henry and Adam Cothren, of Fort Stewart, Georgia; two sisters, Ranae Fletcher and her husband, Walter, of Irving, Texas, and Patsy Twaddle of Lawton, Oklahoma;  and two brothers, Harold Cothren and his wife, Doris, and Rick Cothren and his wife, Susan, all of Lawton, Oklahoma. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herman and Pauline Dodson.
