Timothy John Lunsford

Funeral service for Timothy John Lunsford, 56, of Lawton, Oklahoma will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2019 at The Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Gardens.  

Tim passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 in Lawton.

Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

There will be a special viewing and visitation for family and friends on Thursday, April 18, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  
 
Tim was born on April 29, 1962 in Oakland, California to John "Sonny" and Retha (Boice) Lunsford. He grew up in San Leandro where he attended Glover Cleveland School for the Disabled. He was in the Special Olympics and was the Torch Runner for the Alameda California Special Olympics in 1980. The family moved to Lawton and he attended Robert E. Greiner School. As a child, Tim liked playing with his Hot Wheels and he also loved football and basketball and enjoyed reading and writing. He was loved by all who knew him. 

He is survived by his mother, Retha Lunsford, of Lawton; his brother, Gerald Lunsford and partner, Mark, of Dublin, CA; nephews, Joshua and Matthew Lunsford; many aunts, unlces, and cousins; and a special teacher, Don Crawford that he had in school in California. 

He is preceded in death by his father, John "Sonny" Lunsford, and his grandparents, Jack and Ruth Lunsford and Louie and Lois Boice.
