Tsuyako Bunjes, 83, of Sterling, OK passed away peacefully at home with her loving family surrounding her on Tuesday, July 31, 2018.
There will be a special visitation from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, August 3; family will receive visitors at that time.
Friends and family may come to pay their respects from 3-9 p.m. on Friday; from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday August 4 ;and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday August, 5.
Tsuyako was born in Japan on January 27, 1935 to Ruikichi and Kane Miura. She met her husband Edwin William “Bill” Bunjes while Bill was stationed in Sapporo, Japan. The couple married at the U.S. Embassy on July 3, 1963. This began Tsuyako’s life as an Army spouse. The couple eventually settled in Sterling, OK after her husband’s retirement. Tsuyako was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. In her leisure time she enjoyed gardening, tending her flowerbeds, and taking care of her many beloved pets over the years. She most of all loved caring for her family and expressed her love with food and hospitality.
She is survived by her husband, Bill, of the home; her daughters: Michelle Crawford of Lawton, OK and Wilma Whittaker and her husband John of Sterling, OK. Her grandchildren: Christopher Crawford of Chicago, IL; Micheal Crawford and his wife, Allie, of Jacksonville, FL; Summer Whittaker and Autumn Whittaker, both of Sterling, OK. She also leaves behind two great grandchildren: Aaron and Vada Crawford of Jacksonville, FL.
She is preceded in death by her parents; three sisters and two brothers.
