Udo Karl Schlegel

Memorial service for Udo Schlegel, of Cache will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel.  

Udo Karl Schlegel, 57, passed away on November 20, 2019 at his home in Cache, OK, surrounded by family and loved ones after a two year battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. He was a loving father to two daughters and one son.
Udo was born to Karl and Erika Schlegel on September 25, 1962 in Gaildorf,Germany. He had one sister , Elke, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He grew up in Germany and loved playing soccer. He was in the German Air force and became stationed at Lawton, Fort Sill where he met his former wife Donna Schlegel and his step-daughter Christina. They returned to Gaildorf, Germany and had two more children, Jessica and Jonathan.
He moved with his family in 1993 to Cache, OK where he worked in the hardware business for decades. Up until his illness he worked at Easton's Ace Hardware, where he made many friends. Many knew him as “the German guy at Ace”. Udo was an extremely hard worker. He was funny and always had a smile on his face. He loved watching sports and working on his car. He loved his family more than anything else, and he would put others needs in front of his own. He was an outstanding human being with an amazing heart, and he will forever be greatly missed.
Udo was preceded in death by his parents Karl and Erika, as well as his sister Elke. He is survived by his daughter Jessica, her husband Richard and their son William, of Cache; his son Jonathan and his fiancee Ashley; step-daughter Christina Gray and her children Drew, Lucas, Gabriel, Faye, and Adrian. He is also survived by his nephew,Steffen Kuhnle of Fichtenberg, Germany. He also leaves behind the mother of his children and former wife and friend Donna Schlegel of Cache, OK. Along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and lifelong friends.
