Funeral service for CSM (ret) Ural Leslie Rogers, 85, of Lawton, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 25, 2016 at Cameron Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Teel, pastor officiating.  

Mr. Rogers passed away on Monday, November 21, 2016 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Burial with full military honors will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

There will be a special viewing and visitation for family and friends on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ural was born on August 12, 1931 in Cherokee County, Oklahoma to Alvis E. and Ruby (Mahaney) Rogers. He attended Lawton Junior High School and Lawton High School. He joined the United States Army in 1949 in Texarkana and served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Ural received many awards and medals including the Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal, with two oak leaf clusters, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal with oak leaf cluster, and the Vietnam Service Medal with four campaign stars. After retiring in 1971 at Fort Sill, Oklahoma with 22 years of dedicated service he began his career as an Insurance Agent and Agency Manager. After nine months, he moved into the home office and worked his way to vice president and senior vice president with sales and marketing at Ambassadors Life Insurance Company and with the Sales and Marketing of Globe Life and Accident Insurance Company of Oklahoma City, Ok. After retiring, he worked as the director of Employee Service Division of Globe Life and Accident Company of Oklahoma City, Ok. He married Dolores O'Leary on October 7, 1950 in Staten Island, New York. She passed away on March 14, 2009.  He later married Mary "Tootie" Griffith on November 5, 2010. Mr. Rogers was a lifetime member of the VFW, DAV, Vietnam Veteran's Association, NRA, and Cameron Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary "Tootie" Rogers; his son and daughter in law, Robert and Sheila Rogers, of Oklahoma City, OK; three daughters and sons in law, Brenda and Donald Baldwin, of Edmond, OK, Deanna Chapman, of Oklahoma City, OK, and Cathy and Larry Dirickson, of OKC, OK; his step son and daughter in law, Trent and Andrea Griffith and their children; his brothers and sisters in law, Jimmie Lee Rogers, of Lawton, OK and Billy Dean and Allison Rogers, of OKC, OK; two sisters and brothers in law, Shirley Ann (Milchesky) and Don Piehota, of Lawton, OK and Regina and John Plotnik, of Sherman, TX; two step brothers, Mac McConnell and Jimmy McConnell, both of Lawton, OK;  his step sister and brother in law, Jackie and Jimmy Camp, of Lawton, OK; six grandchildren and their spouses, Shannon and Travis Byrom, of San Antionio, TX, Jennifer and John Cline, of Mustang, OK, Joshua  and Shae Sellers, of Edmond, OK,  Traci Sellers, of Edmond, OK, Brandon Turner, of Tonkawa, OK, and Lindsey and Clay Forst, of Waurika, OK; his great grandchildren, Cylie Price, Lexis Hill, Caden Cline, Keaton Turner, Koen Turner, Kinser Beville, Saydi Beville, Arlington Forst, and one on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.  

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dolores; his daughter, Gail Robinson Rogers; his brother, Marvin Emmitt Rogers;  his sons in law, Larry Salmon and Ken Chapman; his brother in law, Gene Milchesky; and his sisters in law, Audrey Rogers, and Ruth Rogers.
